Letter P: Turning Pro, Waiting for the Draft, Just Been Drafted

The letter ‘P’ starts more than Playoffs when you are talking sports.

Have you considered:

Plan – Have you thought about where you are now, where you want to be at the end of your career and what comes after your playing career.

Payroll – How you get paid: Do you understand how it works, and what comes out of your gross pay to get you to your net (take home) pay?

Pension – The league/team provides for you, but should you look into other options as well?

Person – Who you are, who you want to be and how others perceive you.

Performance – How you perform on and off the field will impact on everything.

Protection – Each sport provides/requires its own protection. Off the field, you’ll want it too: It involves your family, your trusted friends and your team of advisors.

P.R. – Should your protection include a public relations firm?
