Gangadhar Lakshetty

Gangadhar Lakshetty is an Associate Director with more than 15 years of public accounting and auditing experience. Throughout his career, he has served SEC registrants and private companies in various Industries, focusing on life sciences, health care, technology, energy, and investment management clients. Gangadhar is responsible for leading the firm’s commercial industry audit practice from India.

Gangadhar clients range from venture-backed startup companies to initial public offerings to large, multinational public companies. He has extensive experience serving multinational corporations and leading large teams including cross-border coordination. Gangadhar has gained significant experience in understanding complex organizations and processes and technical accounting matters, evaluating internal controls, evaluating, and understanding SEC reporting requirements.

Additionally, Gangadhar spent time on complex technical accounting and financial reporting issues such as revenue recognition with Multiple-Element Arrangements (MEA) (ASC 605), revenue recognition per new revenue standard (ASC 606), equity accounting (preferred/common stock issued with warrants and embedded derivatives), distinguishing liabilities from equity (ASC480), stock-based compensation (ASC 718), Stock option exchange program and Stock option modifications, lease accounting under ASC 840 (operating, capital and build-to-suit analysis), VIE (variable interest entity) analysis and consolidation, statement of cash flows (ASC 230), Earnings per share (ASC 260), accounting for income taxes (ASC740) and investments.

Prior to joining the firm, Gangadhar was an Audit Senior Manager at a Big 4 accounting firm, where he managed multiple IPO transaction audits while also public and private company financial statements audits for U.S. companies. Prior to that Gangadhar was a finance executive at an information technology services company. During his tenure, he worked on the preparation of financial statements of the company per the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and U.S. GAAP.
