Brian Contreras is a Manager in the Forensic, Litigation, and Valuation Services Group with over 5 years of experience in litigation support, forensic accounting, and valuation services. Brian manages and performs valuations for clients across a variety of industries within the context of financial reporting, estate and gift tax, sales and acquisitions, and corporate tax planning (i.e., entity conversion, equity compensation, complex securities, charitable contribution, transfer pricing, and valuation consulting).

Brian also has experience in preparing reports and assisting with questioning of opposing expert reports for matters involving shareholder buyouts and disputes, matrimonial litigation, lifestyle analysis, forensic investigations, commercial damages, diminution of value, and lost profit measurement.

Additionally, Brian provides valuation support within the firm’s audit practice regarding fair value measurements for financial reporting purposes. His experience covers securities and intangible assets of public and private corporations under IRC 409a/ASC 718 equity compensation, ASC 805 purchase price allocation, ASC 350/360 impairment testing, ASC 815 derivatives, and other purposes requiring fair value measurements such as debt, caps, swaps, funds/portfolios, and ESOPs under ASC 820.

Brian also is an assistant instructor for the firm’s valuation CPE program. He presents on topics covering enterprise valuation, complex securities, and intangible asset valuation.
