Tom Kerr is an Assurance Partner in the firm’s Financial Services practice, bringing nearly 20 years of public accounting experience serving clients across the financial services industry. He provides audit and advisory services to both public and private institutions, including global and regional banks, broker-dealers, clearing organizations, private equity and venture capital funds, real estate investment funds, fintech companies, mortgage servicers, transfer agents, and specialty finance entities.
Tom advises financial institutions and investment vehicles on complex accounting, regulatory, and financial reporting matters. His experience spans U.S. GAAP and IFRS reporting, SOX 404 compliance, COSO frameworks, SEC regulatory requirements, and specialized accounting guidance impacting financial instruments, derivatives, investment companies, business combinations, credit impairment, leasing, and valuation matters. He works closely with executive leadership and finance teams to address operational and reporting challenges while ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory standards.
Having worked both domestically and internationally, including in New York and London, Tom brings a global perspective to clients navigating cross-border reporting requirements and multinational operational structures. He is known for developing a strong understanding of his clients’ strategic objectives and delivering practical, technically sound solutions that support long-term growth and regulatory confidence.
Prior to joining the firm, Tom was a Partner at a global accounting and advisory firm.
