J. Mark Livingston

J. Mark Livingston is a Partner in the firm. A 40-years veteran in public accounting, Mark has deep expertise in auditing and financial reporting of employee benefit plans. He also has significant experience in production and inventory management. Mark has worked with clients in a wide range of industries, including healthcare, with particular emphasis on manufacturing and distribution companies that develop and distribute pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

Through his years of experience, Mark has attained an extensive background in audit and financial reporting of employee benefit plans. He knows the unique requirements of employee benefit plan auditing, IRS and U.S. Department of Labor rules and regulations related to qualified plans and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (“ERISA”). He has significant experience leading audit teams for ERISA Audit Services Strategic Growth initiatives. 

Furthermore, as a  Planning and Inventory Management Professional (CPIM), Mark has assisted clients in various industries by increasing their functional knowledge of production and inventory management, cost accounting, and business process improvement.

Prior to joining the firm, Mark, was a Partner at Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP (HPG), a leading North Carolina-based accounting firm. Mark has served as HPG’s Designated Audit Partner on file with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center, or EBPAQC. 

Mark is a thought leader and frequently shares his insights by teaching and consulting locally and regionally, with various industry groups and frequently presenting at national conferences for CPAmerica International, one of the largest associations of CPA firms in the U.S.
