Joseph Nunes

Joseph Nunes is an Audit Senior Manager with over 20 years of experience in professional services both, in a national and international global setting. He manages the execution and quality of information technology audit services for the firm’s financial statement audits, internal controls attestation examinations and technology control consulting services.

In addition, Joe has a broad range of expertise in technology risk, Sarbanes-Oxley 404, consulting, and control assurance with a focus on attestation services, including financial statement audit support and SOC 1 and SOC 2 examinations. He has served a variety of industries and has deep experience in financial services, banking, life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, consumer products and manufacturing.

Prior to joining the firm, Joe was a Manager at a public accounting, consulting, and technology firm. He led the execution of many information technology assurance engagements and technology initiatives with the goal of meeting regulatory compliance objectives, improving business processes, IT governance, information security and strengthening, and optimizing internal controls.

As an internal auditor, Joe directed, planned, and led the global execution of internal IT audits, for a $12B pharmaceutical enterprise, including risk assessments, planning, fieldwork, management review and post-audit follow-up. He also coordinated external auditing activities and support for compliance with business goals and IT objectives.

As a project manager, Joe led from inception to deployment the implementation of a major infrastructure ERP project in Brazil, to link local offices and manufacturing plants. The project involved the replacement of legacy systems with state-of-the-art technologies.

Joe is fluent in Portuguese and has a working comprehension of Spanish and French.
