Webinar: An Investment, Development, and Financing Outlook for Key National Markets Featuring CRE LGBTQ Leaders

Closing out Pride Month, EisnerAmper and Bisnow teamed up to present the webinar: “The Way Forward: Investment, Development and Financing Outlook for Key National Markets.” The panel, comprised of LGBTQ commercial real estate leaders, Andrea Himmel of Himmel + Meringoff Properties, Chris Fraley of RealtyMogul, Christopher Rice-Shepard of Crow Holdings, and EisnerAmper’s own Kenneth Weissenberg, discussed the challenges within the real estate business during these unprecedented times. The discussion covered current market conditions, how the speakers’ own sub-industries are being affected, how different cities plan to reopen business, investing and developing real estate, and how to continue to persevere during periods of uncertainty.

On June 15, 2020, with the majority 6-3 ruling, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that the 1964 Civil Rights Act’s prohibition of discrimination on the basis of sex applied to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender workers. The panel also shared the importance of workplace acceptance and a more inclusive outlook in the industry.

Although the recent Supreme Court ruling was a big step in the right direction, there is more work to be done to continue to promote workplace diversity. Watch the complete webinar here.
