EisnerAmper’s inaugural Alternative Investment Summit will be held on June 14 and showcase industry luminaries sharing their perspectives on topics relevant to family offices, private equity funds and hedge funds, such as allocating capital, co-investment opportunities, economic outlook, among others. As we ramp up for the event, we’re sitting down with a few of the panelists to get a preview of what they will discuss. In this multi-part blog series, we will highlight some of their perspectives.
Don Rogers, Founder, Managing Partner, Stride Capital Group
What strategies are Stride currently interested in, and why?
We are most interested in strategies that address structural market inefficiencies, where managers can use their competitive advantages to differentiate themselves from more crowded approaches and areas of the market.
What are you most excited about in the industry going forward?
We believe the asset management industry, particularly among hedge funds, is undergoing substantial change driven by allocators’ frustration with mediocre returns, high fees, and generic products. This leaves a wide opportunity for Stride to address these challenges by providing holistic support to differentiated emerging managers, and bringing them to market for investors seeking more compelling opportunities.
What is one piece of advice you would give to emerging managers?
The most compelling funds can clearly articulate what makes them unique, so the best way to set yourself up for success is to validate that those differentiators are of value to allocators.
Don is the Founder and Managing Partner of Stride Capital Group, bringing over 22 years of industry experience and early stage alternatives investing.
