William Timlen

William Timlen is a Tax Partner in the Real Estate Services Group, with more than 20 years of professional experience. Bill specializes in the tax aspects of partnerships and passive loss regulations, including partnership profit and loss allocations and distributions. He has expertise in analyzing the tax ramifications to borrowers related to debt restructuring or the transfer of distressed real estate, foreclosures, deed in lieu, and bankruptcy. He also works with real estate owners and developers on their tax planning strategies. Bill provides tax planning advisory services to high net worth individuals and families; as well as advice concerning complex tax examinations at the federal and state level.

At a previous firm, Bill’s responsibilities included providing tax consulting and planning for large real estate clients. He successfully ran his own accounting firm for 10 years, where he provided services to entrepreneurial clients in numerous industries.

While at Providence College, Bill was a member of the Division I men’s baseball team.
