Tim Cox

Tim Cox is a Managing Director with Sherwood, an EisnerAmper Company, bringing more than 40 years of financial and operational experience advising organizations through corporate restructurings, workouts, reorganizations, and bankruptcy matters. He works with management teams and other stakeholders to help challenged and distressed companies navigate financial and operational transitions, restructure obligations, preserve value, and manage complex business wind-downs.

Tim has extensive experience assisting companies facing financial distress, changing market conditions, significant transactions, and challenges associated with growth and business transformation. His work includes restructuring corporate obligations, managing the sale of distressed businesses and assets, and monetizing intellectual property. He also has significant experience with venture-backed technology companies, Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors (ABCs), bankruptcy proceedings, and corporate wind-downs. Drawing on his financial management background, Tim has served in executive roles, including as Chief Financial Officer, as well as in bankruptcy administrator and advisory capacities.

Over the course of his career, Tim has worked with organizations across a broad range of industries, including technology and semiconductors, clean energy, biopharmaceuticals, agriculture, nutrition, film and television, and transportation. His combination of financial, operational, and restructuring experience enables him to address the complex issues that arise throughout the lifecycle of challenged and distressed businesses.

Prior to joining EisnerAmper through the combination with Sherwood Partners, Tim spent more than 25 years with Sherwood Partners, where he focused on corporate restructuring, insolvency matters, asset sales, and business wind-downs. Earlier in his career, he worked with a certified public accounting firm before moving into financial and operating roles within the technology and semiconductor industries.
