Peter Hartheimer is a Managing Director with Sherwood Partners, an EisnerAmper Company, bringing more than 20 years of experience advising organizations through financial restructuring, distressed transactions, and complex asset dispositions. He works with management teams, boards, lenders, investors, legal advisors, and other stakeholders to help businesses navigate insolvency, reorganize capital structures, preserve value, and execute strategic transactions.
 
Peter focuses on middle-market distressed situations and has extensive experience working throughout the insolvency process. His work includes capital restructurings, corporate reorganizations, equity and creditors’ committee matters, buy-side and sell-side advisory, asset recovery, corporate turnarounds, and asset management. He has also advised health care patient ombudsmen and served as a fiduciary advisor to trusts and estates.
 
Over the course of his career, Peter has negotiated complex sale agreements, implemented reorganization plans, and supported transactions across industries, including energy, healthcare, commercial and general aviation, automotive, rail, materials handling, manufacturing, pulp and paper, agribusiness, retail, and distribution. He has also developed a municipal and public utility practice focused on energy and infrastructure.
 
Prior to joining EisnerAmper through the combination with Sherwood Partners, Peter held senior roles in private equity and merchant banking, including serving as a Business Development Officer for a private equity and merchant-banking fund. In that role, he participated in more than 50 transactions and gained broad experience in valuation, asset recovery, corporate turnarounds, and distressed investment situations.
