Paul Dougherty is Partner-in-Charge of the firm’s Philadelphia office and leads its Federal Tax Group. With more than 40 years of public accounting experience, he advises middle-market and family-owned businesses and their owners on complex tax planning, structuring, and strategic decision-making. He serves clients throughout the Greater Philadelphia region and nationally.
 
Paul’s practice focuses primarily on S corporations, closely held businesses, LLCs, and high‑net‑worth individuals, with an emphasis on owner‑level planning and tax‑efficient structuring across the business lifecycle. He regularly advises clients on entity selection and restructuring, multi‑year tax planning, transaction support, and succession and exit planning, often coordinating with legal and wealth advisors to deliver integrated, practical solutions.
 
He has extensive experience reviewing complex S corporation, partnership, and individual tax returns and advising on sophisticated planning techniques, mergers and acquisitions, and federal and state examinations. Paul is known for providing clear, actionable advice and for serving as a trusted long‑term advisor to entrepreneurial and family‑owned businesses.
 
Paul is actively involved with the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, supporting the region’s business community. He is also a member of Jericho National Golf Club and The Union League of Philadelphia.
