Laura Soileau is a Partner and the National Practice Group Leader of the firm's Risk and Compliance Services (RCS) practice, leading a large team of risk advisory professionals dedicated to helping clients identify, manage, and navigate a broad range of risks, spanning both business and cyber risk. Laura also serves as Partner-in-Charge for Gulf Coast, where she fosters the firm's culture and oversees the day-to-day operations and long-term growth strategies for the Gulf Coast offices. Across both roles, she is guided by a commitment to client service and professional excellence.
Laura is a seasoned risk advisory professional with deep expertise in internal audit, internal controls, governance, risk, compliance, and fraud. Throughout her career, she has partnered with audit committees, facilitated risk assessments across financial, operational, and technology audits, coordinated with external auditors, and communicated findings and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Laura is particularly skilled at helping organizations implement practical, tailored solutions that strengthen internal controls, improve operational effectiveness, and drive organizational efficiency.
A recognized leader in the profession, Laura is highly active with The Institute of Internal Auditors
(IIA), previously serving as Chairman of the IIA's North American Board of Directors and as a member of the IIA’s Global Board of Directors. She was named one of twenty Emerging Leaders by the IIA in 2014, has co-authored articles for Internal Auditor magazine, and speaks regularly on internal audit and fraud-related topics.
Prior to joining the firm, Laura served as a Director at Postlethwaite & Netterville (P&N), a leading full-service accounting and business advisory firm.
