Jeffrey D Rosen

Jeffrey D. Rosen is a Partner in the firm’s Tax Services Group.  Jeff has nearly 30 years of public accounting and private industry experience across a range of industries, with a focus on meeting the unique tax planning and compliance needs of multi-state real estate private equity funds and their investors.  Jeff’s experience includes advising on tax-efficient entity structuring and compliance matters relating to both foreign and tax-exempt investors investing in U.S. property, as well as the use of Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) in private fund environments.

Jeff also works with high net-worth investors on both strategic planning and compliance matters.  These matters include understanding the tax implications of various types of non-cash compensation, such as incentive and non-qualified stock options and working with executives and owners to develop planning strategies that align with both regulatory requirements and long-term goals.  Jeff is proficient in the specific tax rules related to timber and has worked extensively with both private funds and individual investors to develop and implement tax-efficient solutions and structures related to timber ownership and timber harvesting operations. 

In addition to the tax matters noted above, Jeff has expertise in all aspects of private fund and limited partnership administration, including oversight of quarterly reporting processes, partner income and distribution allocation waterfalls, production of investor capital statements, interpretation of relevant operating agreement provisions, master-feeder structures, and other related topics.

Prior to joining the firm, Jeff was with Prague & Company, a Massachusetts-based full-service Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firm, focusing primarily on tax advisory and compliance matters related to private equity funds and their investors.
