Heather Taylor

Heather Taylor is a managing director in the National Office of Professional Practice with more than 30 years of experience in public accounting and assurance. In her role, Heather provides technical leadership and consultation to engagement teams serving private companies and not-for-profit organizations, helping teams navigate complex accounting, assurance, and financial reporting matters.

Heather oversees professional practice matters for the firm’s private client services group, with a particular focus on accounting and financial reporting, review and compilation engagements, attestation engagements, and not-for-profit organizations. She is responsible for developing and implementing firm policies and guidance, supporting the firm’s system of quality management, performing technical engagement reviews, and consulting with engagement teams on complex or unusual matters. A key focus of her role is translating technical requirements into practical guidance that helps engagement teams deliver high-quality work and strengthens their technical capabilities.

Throughout her career, Heather has worked extensively with closely held businesses and not-for-profit organizations, including social service organizations, private schools, and trade associations. Her experience also includes audits of federal, state, and local government grants and contracts and serving clients in the manufacturing, distribution, and service industries.

Heather is a Rutgers Trustee Emerita and a past vice chair of the Rutgers Board of Trustees. She recently served on the Board of Governors at Rutgers University and is a member of the Rutgers Alumni Association Board of Directors. She was also recognized by NJBIZ as one of New Jersey’s Best 50 Women in Business.
