Gregory Chin

Gregory Chin is a Partner in the firm’s Transaction Advisory practice and Partner-in-Charge of the Cannabis and Hemp Group. With 30 years of experience, Greg advises clients on buy-side and sell-side financial diligence, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic transaction matters. He works with private companies, strategic buyers and sellers, private equity groups, lenders, founder-led businesses, corporate development teams, and strategic acquirers to evaluate transactions and navigate the financial complexities of acquisitions and divestitures.

Greg specializes in financial due diligence across a broad range of industries, including manufacturing and distribution, private equity, professional services, hospitality, franchise, construction, automotive, sports and entertainment, public companies, and the cannabis and hemp sector. He partners with clients to assess historical financial performance, identify key risks and opportunities, and provide actionable insights that support informed decision-making throughout the transaction lifecycle.

Greg also brings significant experience advising clients in the cannabis and hemp industry, with a focus on transaction advisory, M&A diligence, and strategic growth initiatives. He works with cannabis-related businesses, investors, and stakeholders to evaluate opportunities, assess financial performance, and navigate the industry’s evolving business, tax, regulatory, and operational environment.

Prior to his current role, Greg served as a Partner at a global accounting and advisory organization, where he led buy-side and sell-side diligence engagements for a diverse client base. During that time, he was an early key member of the organization’s cannabis industry group and led its transaction advisory efforts for the sector.
