Brian Kurtz

Brian Kurtz is a Partner in EisnerAmper's Private Client Services Group with nearly 20 years of experience in public accounting. Based in the firm's Chicago office, he focuses on financial reporting and accounting services for closely held businesses. Much of his work involves reviewing and compiling financial statements for owners, CFOs, and controllers who rely on those statements to satisfy lenders, sureties, and other stakeholders.

 

A significant part of Brian's work is the technical accounting that turns a working set of books into a finished product. Most clients hand off a draft trial balance rather than final statements. Brian prepares the adjustments that bring the numbers to GAAP or tax basis, including depreciation, prepaid and accrual entries, and the implementation of standards such as ASC 842 for leases.

 

Brian is active on the tax side as well. He prepares and signs business and individual returns for many of his clients and brings in the firm's tax colleagues on more complex planning. He works with clients across construction, commercial services, healthcare, and manufacturing and distribution.

 

Before joining EisnerAmper, Brian was a Senior Manager at Morrison & Morrison, Ltd., a Chicago-based CPA and consulting firm.
