Allen Wilen, National Practice Leader for EisnerAmper’s Financial Advisory Services team, completed the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy’s (INSOL’s) prestigious Global Insolvency Practice course, earning the designation of INSOL Fellow.

Wilen was the only American to complete INSOL’s Global Insolvency Practice Course for 2019, an advanced educational qualification curriculum focused on international insolvency. The year-long program—taught by law school professors, judges and insolvency practitioners from around the world—involves the submission of original papers and case studies as well as an oral examination on international insolvency and cross-border cooperation in financial distress. This year’s courses were held in London, Singapore and New York.

INSOL is a worldwide federation of national associations for accountants and lawyers whose practices focus on turnaround and insolvency. There are currently 40 member associations globally with more than 10,000 professionals participating as members of INSOL International.

“This accreditation expands the expertise of our team and its ability to guide clients to the best possible results and maximize value. Being a member of such a well-regarded group of professionals is an honor, and I look forward to bringing this knowledge and experience to client engagements,” said Wilen. Allen has represented numerous distressed businesses in navigating their paths through the complexity of the turnaround, sale and liquidation processes. He has been appointed in numerous fiduciary capacities by both federal and state courts as a Receiver, Special Fiscal Agent, Liquidating Trustee, Examiner, Provisional Director, and Chief Restructuring Officer. For example, Wilen currently serves as sole fiduciary for Ezra Holdings and Ezra Marine Services Ltd., Pte., a Singapore-based operation currently finalizing its Chapter 11 proceeding in the Southern District of New York.

“Our biggest priority is our clients, and being in the position to best serve and guide them is what we strive for year after year,” said Jay Weinstein, Managing Partner of Markets and Industries. “Having someone like Allen on the team, with such an esteemed designation, makes us proud and positions us for the best possible outcomes for our clients.”
