Wayne Charles

Wayne Charles is a Director in the Private Client Services Group, with more than 30 years of public accountant experience, developed both in the United Kingdom and in the United States of America. Wayne provides accounting and tax advisory services to a variety of closely held and private companies. He also provides services to the retail trade, not-for-profits, manufacturing and distributions, real estate, art dealers and individuals in the entertainment industry. Wayne specializes in the preparation and review of tax returns for both S and C corporations, partnerships, Form 5472 (foreign owned corporations) and Form 8865 (foreign partnerships) and individuals.

In addition to tax compliance and advisory services, Wayne has extensive experience with tax controversy matters, representing clients before the IRS, and the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance. Examinations include negotiating settlements, counseling clients with installment agreements and offers in compromise, and state and local tax issues related to residency and domicile. Additionally, he is well versed in the use of QuickBooks, both the desktop and the online version, CCH Engagements and the use of GoSystem Tax, and Microsoft software products.

Prior to joining the firm, Wayne was a Director with Cohen & Schaeffer, a boutique accounting firm in New York City that specialized in advising international tax clients. His responsibilities included being the lead person for audits and peer reviews, training of staff and managing tax preparation and providing advice to a portfolio of high net worth clients.

Wayne started his career in the United Kingdom where he worked for 16 years in various boutique style public accounting firms mainly doing tax work, audits and business advice to clients.
