Mehal Zaveri

Mehal Zaveri is an assurance senior manager in the firm’s Financial Services practice with nearly ten years of experience. He leads the firm’s India-based Cayman team and manages a portfolio of hedge fund and private equity fund audit engagements for global fund managers across multiple jurisdictions.

Mehal oversees end-to-end audit delivery under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), including planning, risk assessment, execution, review, and reporting. He works regularly with clients, fund administrators, and engagement teams on complex accounting, valuation, and financial reporting matters, and he uses technology and AI-enabled audit techniques to enhance audit effectiveness and focus on key risk areas.

Mehal leads and mentors a team of professionals, with a focus on technical quality, audit quality, training, and operational efficiency. He also supports firm leadership with compliance, talent development, resource management, and strategic initiatives.

Prior to joining the firm, Mehal was a manager at a Big 4 accounting firm in India, where he led statutory audit and assurance engagements for financial services clients, including listed companies, non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), mutual funds, alternative investment funds (AIFs), and private companies. He reviewed financial statements prepared under Accounting Standards (AS) and Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), tested operational and financial controls at asset management companies, registrars, and fund administrators, and evaluated investment valuations, net asset value (NAV) calculations, management fees, and income distributions.
