Matthew Nichols is a Senior Manager in the firm's National Security Advisory practice. Matthew primarily focuses on risk and compliance services. With 15 years of experience, he leads engagements under the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), advising clients on national security–related matters and enterprise risk management.
Matthew is responsible for CFIUS engagements including assisting clients with NSA compliance program and process efficiency reviews, as well as serving as the Third-Party Auditor and Third-Party Monitor. He provides recommendations that strengthen governance, optimize controls, and enhance risk management practices.
Before joining EisnerAmper, Matthew was a Senior Manager in Cybersecurity Advisory Services at a national risk management consulting and cybersecurity services firm. There, he advised Fortune 500 companies, family offices, and critical infrastructure operators on cybersecurity resilience, insider threat programs, and regulatory compliance. His earlier career includes leadership roles at a Fortune 500 telecommunications and technology company, where he supported U.S. intelligence agencies and federal law enforcement counterterrorism operations and directed Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) compliance initiatives.
