James Martin

James Martin is a Tax Director in the firm's Private Client Services Group. With four decades of experience, he advises closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals on a full range of domestic tax planning and compliance matters.

Jim works with clients in industries including technology, manufacturing, and distribution, and professional services, guiding them through accounting method changes, acquisitions and dispositions, and the identification and implementation of federal, state, and local tax benefits. He also represents clients in audit defense, helping them navigate examinations with both technical precision and strategic insight. By developing long-term relationships, Jim delivers tax strategies that support business growth while managing immediate financial priorities.

Before joining the firm through a merger, Jim was a Tax Principal at Raich Ende Malter & Co., LLP, a leading full-service accounting and auditing firm providing a wide variety of accounting, tax, and business advisory services to organizations of all sizes, emerging businesses, and high net worth individuals. Earlier in his career, he served as Tax Planning Director for a large privately held media company. Jim began his career at a Big 8 firm and was a Partner in a New York City accounting firm.
