Earl Turner

Earl Turner is a Director in the firm's Risk and Compliance Services (RCS) group. With more than 20 years of experience in information technology and cybersecurity, Earl focuses on cybersecurity assessments, penetration testing, vulnerability management, incident response, cloud security, and security architecture reviews. He has extensive experience helping organizations identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks across the financial services, energy, healthcare, manufacturing, government, and professional services sectors.

 

Earl specializes in evaluating the effectiveness of security controls, identifying technical and operational risks, and developing practical, risk-based recommendations to strengthen cybersecurity programs. His experience includes conducting penetration tests, cybersecurity audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and security reviews of on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. He has supported organizations subject to a variety of industry standards and regulatory requirements, including the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST SP 800-53, and CIS Critical Security Controls. Earl also has significant experience assessing and securing Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft 365 environments.

 

Throughout his career, Earl has worked closely with executive leadership, internal audit teams, and IT operations personnel to communicate cybersecurity risks and implement effective remediation strategies. His background combines hands-on cybersecurity consulting experience with extensive enterprise infrastructure expertise, including the design and implementation of secure, highly available Active Directory, messaging, and network environments.

 

Prior to joining the firm, Earl was a Senior Security Engineer at Postlethwaite & Netterville (P&N), a leading full-service accounting and business advisory firm. Before entering cybersecurity consulting, he held leadership positions within the internal IT organization of an international consulting firm, where he led enterprise infrastructure and security initiatives supporting a global workforce across multiple regions.
