Alwyn Kruger

Alwyn Kruger is the Director of Technical Accounting in the firm’s Finance Department, bringing 25 years of experience in technical accounting, financial reporting, assurance, and quality management. He advises finance and business teams on complex accounting matters and helps ensure the firm’s compliance with applicable accounting and reporting standards.

Alwyn researches and interprets U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and other accounting guidance and evaluates the accounting implications of significant transactions and strategic initiatives. His experience includes business combinations, revenue recognition, leases, debt and equity transactions, stock-based compensation, restructuring activities, impairment analyses, software capitalization, financing transactions, and capital markets activities.

He develops and maintains accounting policies, prepares technical accounting memoranda and position papers, leads the adoption of new standards, and assesses the related impact on systems, processes, controls, and financial reporting. Alwyn also serves as a primary technical accounting contact for external auditors and advises executive leadership on accounting risks, governance, M&A due diligence, integration, and business transformation initiatives.

Prior to joining the firm, Alwyn held technical accounting, financial reporting, assurance, and National Office leadership roles with global accounting and advisory organizations. His experience included engagement quality reviews, audit transformation programs, global delivery models, information technology controls, quality management systems, and complex audits across financial services, venture capital, manufacturing, healthcare, pharmaceutical, professional services, and nonprofit organizations. He also develops and presents training on emerging accounting standards, audit quality, and technical accounting matters.
