Who we are:

Licensing International is a 501c-6 global trade association serving the US$340 billion brand licensing industry. 

Our mission is to advance the business of licensing, raise the level of professionalism and drive awareness of licensing to the broader business community. 

We have approximately 1,300 corporate members, nearly half of whom are based outside the US and a full time staff of 10 people. We also operate a 501 c-3 foundation providing financial aid scholarships.

The office is headquartered in NYC in the iconic Empire State Building.     



 

Summary/Qualifications

 

 

The current controller is retiring.  This role is responsible for preparing and managing the operating budget. You will be responsible for creating and presenting a financial presentation to the BOD three (3) times a year. A background working in small to medium sized non profit organizations or institutions is preferred.  Minimum of 7 years experience.

You must have great attention to detail.  Experience either being an auditor or managing audits is required; an ability to satisfy all audit requests.  Current experience with GAAP and managing implementation of new accounting rules is required. An ability to manage and work with an outside audit firm is also required. You will have one direct report: Finance Director.

 The is a full-time fully remote or hybrid position.

Financial:

Experience in working with general ledger systems, preferably QuickBooks and financial reporting. 

  • Quarter/Year End Closes
    • Prepare financials file with year-end adjustments
  • Quarterly forecasts
    • Update budget files for actual results to date
  • Full responsibility for managing and preparing the budget

Operations:

Oversee and make recommendations on insurance renewals

Oversee and review annually outside payroll company:

  • Currently use Insperity (PEO), 8 employees

Globalization Partners (2 exUS employees: Canada and the UK) with President   

Oversee the Association Management Software program Impexium:

  •  Reconcile membership tracking files (Excel)

Oversee outside payroll system: Insperity (PEO) 8 employees

Oversee investment account; monthly calls with Association President, Investment Committee and financial advisor (UBS)
