John Clausen is a Tax Partner in the firm's State and Local Tax Group. With 30-years of experience in public accounting, John’s expertise focuses on state and local income taxation.

John has significant experience serving clients of all sizes, from start-ups to large established entities and individuals and he primarily focuses on technology & life Sciences, financial services, and manufacturing industries. He also provides invaluable assistance to individuals with state residency transitions, particularly when moving from states with high tax rates to states with lower tax rates or no income taxes.

Prior to joining the firm, John was a Managing Director at a leading accounting firm based in Seattle, Washington. He also has previous experience working with "Big 4" firms.

Furthermore, John frequently speaks at the Silicon Valley High Tech Tax Conference, sponsored by San Jose State University and Tax Executives Institute (TEI).
