Martin Danowitz

Martin Danowitz is a Manager in the EisnerAmper’s Cloud Accounting Services Group, which is part of the firm’s Outsourced Finance and Accounting practice. He has over 35 years of experience providing accounting advisory services to both public and privately held clients. He also supports startups, and clients who do not have their own dedicated accounting staff. He oversees accounting work performed by virtual controllers.

Prior to joining the firm, Martin served as a Corporate Controller for two privately held firms. He managed all the general accounting and financial reporting (in accordance with GAAP), and other services for an on-line student lending company with originations in excess of $2 billion. He also worked at a real estate investment firm (with a focus on data centers), with total investments of over $200 million, where he managed all the general accounting and financial reporting. Among his responsibilities were the handling of the real estate and lease accounting issues, working with construction managers and reviewing AIA reporting, reviewing all lease agreements to apply proper accounting treatment.

Martin spent nearly 25 years in various roles with a Fortune 500 bank. He managed financial reporting and staff ranging in size from 2 to 100. He has performed substantiation and verification of balance sheet accounts an implemented new accounting policies and GAAP accounting rules. Martin also reviewed complex transactions, and has extensive expertise in the use of advanced features of Microsoft Excel, SAP general ledger, SAP Business Objects, Essbase, and bank loan systems.
