John M. Williamson
Deceased: May 13, 2021
The Partners and Employees of EisnerAmper mourn the passing of our Partner and good friend John Williamson. John was truly a remarkable professional and a one of a kind individual. As Partner-in-Charge of EisnerAmper’s Western Region until his passing, John changed the course of firm history by overseeing the combination of EisnerAmper and Harb, Levy & Weiland, where he served as Managing Partner. As a member of EisnerAmper’s Financial Services Group, John brought over 35 years experience in serving clients in the securities area. He specialized in working with investment partnerships, broker-dealers, offshore funds and registered investment advisors, among others.
John received his B.S. in Accounting (Economics and Business Administration) from Illinois College, where he served as a member of the Board of Trustees, and his M.S. in Taxation from Golden Gate University. The university featured John in its book, Profiles in Prominence, for his achievements as an alumnus of its graduate program. John was a member of the AICPA and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
John’s ability to reinvent himself professionally was perhaps his greatest asset personally; meticulous auditor, holder of a Master’s of Taxation, hedge fund industry expert, company leader and firmwide mentor. John would often comment on how invigorated he was by all the people in his professional life. Yet John’s passion and competitive nature went well beyond the office, be it college athlete, self-taught guitar player or fine wine collector. John will be missed by so many. Our deepest sympathies go out to all of John’s family and friends.
