Gaini Umarov is a Senior Manager in the firm. With over 10 years of experience in IT and business advisory services, Gaini leads the North East IT Risk, Data Privacy and Security Practice that is part of the overall Risk and Compliance Services (RCS) practice group.
He has experience with providing IT SOX framework implementation, IT audit and ITGC review, External SWIFT assessments and SOC1 reviews.
Prior to joining the firm, Gaini was an Assistant Vice President with one of the leading banks in New Jersey. He led, strategized, and executed IT and non-IT audits from kick-off to final reporting. He also planned key audit stages, walkthroughs, reviewed results of design and effectiveness testing, managed audit expectations and possible outcomes.
Gaini also spent time as a Senior Consultant with a Big 4 accounting firm where he was part of a team of highly motivated problem solvers, that helped resolve complex business issues from strategy to execution. He developed new ideas and proposed innovative solutions to problems, delegated and coached the team to provide new learning opportunities to help deliver results, and reviewed work for quality, accuracy, and relevance.
