Andrew Cohen

Andrew Cohen is a Tax Senior Manager in the State and Local Tax Group, with more than 10 years of experience in public accounting. Andrew has significant experience servicing clients in the real estate, retail and service industries. He focuses on state and local income taxation, state income tax consulting, controversy, research and advisory services.

Andrew’s areas of service encompass income and franchise tax, nexus reviews; residency audits; due diligence reviews; and pass-through entity tax analysis studies. He is also experienced in exposure remediation/voluntary disclosure and amnesty agreements; credits and incentives negotiation and analysis; New York City Commercial Rent Tax; sales and use taxes, escheatment; and drafting rulings and other correspondences to taxing authorities.

Prior to joining the firm, Andrew was a Tax Senior Manager at a regional accounting firm serving large real estate and retail clients, and was responsible for an array of federal, state and local tax issues. He also worked at a national firm providing tax controversy, consulting and compliance services.

Andrew has presented to audiences on various federal, state and local tax topics, and written numerous articles. He has been published in various journals including Mid Atlantic Real Estate Journal, CPA Practice Advisor and The Tax Adviser.
