Stephen Kerr has more than 25 years of experience in Information Technology, ten of which included business ownership. He also has more than a dozen years of IT audit experience, beginning at PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Systems and Process Assurance Practice. At EisnerAmper, he has worked on a variety of engagements that leverage his extensive IT expertise and accounting knowledge.
Steve has conducted numerous IT general and application controls audits, Sarbanes-Oxley §404 audits, Service Organization Control (SOC) audits, IT risk assessments, IT governance reviews, system pre- and post-implementation reviews, spreadsheet risk assessments and facilitated remediations, and many other types of engagements.
Steve’s career has exposed him to a wide variety of industries, including technology, insurance, banking, health care, manufacturing, distribution, telecommunications, construction, education, not-for-profit, federal and state government, and more. These encounters included both privately- and publicly-held entities, and entailed both international and extensive domestic travel.
Given his focused expertise in Microsoft Excel, Steve has a special interest in the risk that spreadsheets pose to financial reporting. He has written and spoken frequently on this subject.
