Nearly 500 Private Equity & Real Estate Dealmakers Attend EisnerAmper Real Estate Private Equity Summit

Close to 500 executives convened at the McGraw-Hill Conference Center in New York City for the inaugural EisnerAmper Real Estate Private Equity Summit on September 24.  The day-long conference included panels featuring over 50 industry power players, including executives from 20 leading private equity houses.  Topics for the day included the story behind the year’s top real estate deals, current economic conditions, investment opportunities both here and abroad, joint ventures, and deal structuring. 

The day’s keynote session featured RXR’s CEO Scott Rechler and Mintz Levin’s Jeffrey Moerdler.  During their conversation, these two leaders of the Port Authority of NY and NJ discussed the role politics plays in the real estate market and what developments may be on the horizon.

Other industry luminaries participating in the conference included David Lichtenstein, Chairman, The Lightstone Group; Joseph Sitt, CEO, Thor Equities; Richard Mack, CEO, Mack Real Estate Group; Joseph Azrack, Chairman and Founder, Apollo Global Real Estate Management; Dean Adler, CEO and Co-Founder, Lubert-Adler Partners, LP; Peter Linneman, Professor Emeritus of Real Estate, The Wharton School of Business; Matt Khourie, CEO, CBRE Global Investors; Michael Maturo, President and CFO, RXR; Richard Saltzman, President, Colony Capital LLC; William Kahane, CEO, RCS Capital; Steven Witkoff, CEO, Witkoff Group; and Adam Schwartz, Head of United States/Europe Real Estate, Angelo Gordon.

EisnerAmper’s Real Estate team was very visible at the event, introducing sessions, networking with the crowd, attending sessions, and taking turns at the exhibit booth. Kenneth Weissenberg, Co-Chair of EisnerAmper's Real Estate Services Group, spoke on a joint venture panel and moderated a panel of real estate luminaries on the Forecast for Real Estate Investment.  Co-Chair Aaron Kaiser opened the Summit by delivering a welcome address. Harry Dublinsky, a Director, served as the Chair of the event.  Deborah Friedland, a Director in EisnerAmper’s Hospitality Industry practice, moderated a session on private equity hotel transactions.
