Peter V. Segro

Deceased: March 30, 2022

EisnerAmper mourns the sudden passing of our dear friend and colleague, Peter V. Segro.

Peter V. Segro was a Senior Manager in the International Tax Services Group and part of the EisnerAmper Family for over 23 years, beginning with Diamant Katz Kahn & Co in 1999, which merged into Amper, Politziner and Mattia in 2002. He had expertise in nearly all phases of tax compliance and planning for high net worth individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts. A whiz at international tax, Peter helped lead the Expat/Inpat taxation service line for the firm, which includes taxation of U.S. citizens working abroad, as well as resident and non-resident aliens.  Peter had a deep understanding of FATCA issues, foreign-owned partnerships and corporations, and the IRS offshore voluntary compliance program (OVDP).  You wanted Peter on your side when dealing with tax treaty issues and tax controversy state and federal matters.

More importantly, Peter was one of the kindest people you have ever met, always putting the needs of his clients, colleagues, and friends ahead of his own.  He was as dedicated as they come…a man with a huge heart and a burning desire to help.

Peter, "thank you" for all the lives you have touched. You will surely and sorely be missed.  Our thoughts go out to your wife and family and all those who loved you.
