We’re very much looking forward to hearing from renowned speaker, author and family businesswoman, Mitzi Perdue, who will keynote EisnerAmper’s 11th Annual Family Office Summit in Manhattan on October 29.
Mitzi is a part of three iconic family businesses. Her father co-founded the Sheraton Hotel chain, her late husband, Frank, founded Perdue Farms and she, herself, founded CERES Farms, a major supplier of wine grapes. As a result of being involved in these successful family businesses, Mitzi has learned a great deal about how to persevere and grow a business, all while juggling the various family dynamics involved. Her family members put a major emphasis on developing and sustaining a culture with strong values. This is the secret sauce that Mitzi feels has led to the success of her family’s businesses. In fact, Mitzi believes that lack of a positive, supportive culture is the core reason 70% of family businesses fail to pass on their legacy to the next generation.
Mitzi’s long and winding journey has led her to where she is today as an insightful business speaker and author. She enjoys sharing what she’s learned, and she loves to offer business owners practical tips for creating a successful culture to help their family businesses prosper. She’s the author of several books, her latest being How to Make Your Family Business Last: Techniques, Advice, Checklist, and Resources for Keeping the Family Business in the Family.
We’re extremely excited to hear more about Mitzi’s experiences during her keynote address. And we’re sure it will be both educational and entertaining.
