Where do tech industry investors, government, and educational leaders converge every year? At the eMerge Americas conference in beautiful Miami Beach, Florida. This two-day conference, held at the end of April, brings together entrepreneurs and innovators from more than 400 companies representing over 40 countries. The ambitious goal of the conference is to “transform Miami into the tech hub of the Americas.” With more than 15,000 attendees, the conference is one of the premiere tech events taking place in South Florida.

EisnerAmper, a sponsor of the conference, also presented at the eMerge boot camp to more than 200 university, early stage, and later stage participants. Alan Wink discussed the ABCs of capital formation and the ins and outs of building a solid management team and board of directors. Participants heard best practices in capital raising, sourcing, and board composition and responsibilities.

The agenda was packed with informative sessions on trends and developments in the tech industry featuring leaders from SAP, Google, National Geographic, P&G, Ultimate Software, Revolution Growth, Amazon, and Intel.

There was a very special interview with Juan Guaido, the acting president of Venezuela, regarding the impact technology plays on rebuilding, communication, and the growth opportunities in his country.

The event concluded with ‘Mr. 305 to Mr. Worldwide,’ aka Pitbull, who is a homegrown Miami artist and entrepreneur along with Alex Estevez from Accel Ventures and Jack Selby with Clarium Capital Management judging a startup showcase.

The EisnerAmper team was at eMerge in full force and will be posting blog content on some of their favorite educational sessions and takeaways from the conference. Watch for it!
