Kenneth Weissenberg is a Tax Partner, and Partner-in-Charge of the firm’s LGBT Individual and Alternative Family Services Practice. For more than 20 years, Ken has been a leader in developing tax and advisory services for same-sex couples and families. Ken is a recognized expert and frequent speaker on tax issues facing high net worth individuals, trust and estate planning, and the impact of tax laws affecting both LGBT couples and business owners.
Ken currently serves on the Board of Lambda Legal and is the Chair of their Audit Committee. Ken was also a Board Member of Family Equality Council from 2005-2010 and is currently a member of their Emeritus Board. Ken has previously been a member of the development committee of GMHC.
Ken is also Co-Leader of the firm’s national Real Estate practice. He has extensive experience in all aspects of the real estate industry, providing clients with services ranging from developing tax saving strategies for owning and operating property, to structuring and negotiating complex sales, acquisitions, and financing transactions. Ken has been involved in over $50 billion of real estate transactions over the last 30 years, including some of the largest deals in New York City. Ken has consulted with a variety of public and private REITs on tax planning and compliance issues, including REIT formations, property contributions, and mergers and acquisitions.
Additionally, Ken is a frequent writer and speaker on topics for various professional groups and news organizations.
