Job Description

Wedbush Securities is one of the largest full-service investment banking and brokerage firms in the nation. We are looking for an experienced audit professional to join our growing team and conduct financial, operational, compliance and IT audits. The primary purpose of this position is to conduct internal audits and to report and track remedial actions.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage full-cycle internal audit process
  • Review and analyze applicable documents and reports: perform and document audit test work
  • Prepare or assist in preparing audit work programs, perform audits, and facilitate remediation of audit findings
  • Conduct special audit projects and internal investigations
  • Prepare written reports of internal audit reviews and special projects, including: findings, analyses, conclusions and recommendations for management
  • Identify and promote the use of best practices within the organization
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
  • Interview colleagues and managers; perform management requests, other projects and responsibilities as assigned

Experience and Skills

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required
  • 2+ years auditing experience in a public accounting firm and/or corporate environment required
  • Experience in financial services industry or understanding of brokerage business highly desirable
  • CPA, CIA, CISA or other relevant professional qualification preferred
  • General knowledge of GAAP and IIA auditing standards
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with the MS Office suite of applications a must
  • Knowledge of capital markets and its operations, products and services highly desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential
  • Good organizational, time management and project management skills desired
  • Creative thinker with effective problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team and prioritize daily work flow with minimal supervision
