Ballard Spahr LLP, a national law firm with over 650 lawyers in 15 offices across the country is seeking a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis.  The selected individual will be a leader with a vision and experience in streamlining operations, improving department performance, creating efficiencies and providing quality customer service.  Responsibilities include the management of the firm’s annual budgeting and planning process; conducting financial analysis and making recommendations to assist the Firm in making sound business decisions; reporting and explaining budget to actual variances on key firm metrics including profitability across clients, projects, and departments.

We are looking for a strategic partner who is assertive, ambitious and an independent learner who can not only ask intelligent questions, but also provide creative solutions to problems.  The person will also have strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills, be a team player and prefer to work in a collaborative environment.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics; a minimum of five years of experience in a financial planning and reporting department of a professional services firm including at least two years of managerial experience. Demonstrated technology skills including software selection, conversion and/or implementation and proficiency with various packaged software solutions.  Familiarity with Elite accounting software and Clarity budgeting software a plus.
