Job Description:

The Controller will be responsible for managing the Finance Team.  The Team’s duties include GL, AR, AP, Payroll, Invoicing, Commissions, purchasing, month end closings and financial statements. In this role, the Controller will be responsible for accurate financial reporting and budget management. The Controller will communicate with the management team to ensure compliance with Government regulations and the Company’s policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Finance Team that currently includes an accounting manager and 2 accounting staff members
  • Responsible for all aspects of our NetSuite ERP system and management reports
  • Supervisor the NetSuite data entry and systems integration of various financial ERP interfaces
  • Review budgets and monthly comparisons to advise management of Company performance
  • Identify any financial control short comings and provide solution recommendations
  • Develop new management reports to inform Company managers on financial performance issues
  • Provide the Finance Team with training, incentives and guidance
  • Communicate with the management team as required with useful statistics
  • Maintain up to date accounting knowledge and work with auditors
  • Manage all banking transactions and supervise all vendor payments and customer collections
  • Generate new ideas to enhance our accounting and financial processes
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and scorecards to measure our progress and successes
  • Coordinate with Company managers to ensure all expenses and revenue are recorded timely
  • Responsible for managing cash and budget controls

Skills and Requirements:

  • Must have over 2 years of experience using ERP computer systems: NetSuite experience is preferred
  • Must have over 5 years of experience managing accounting and financial professionals
  • Must possess the qualities of being: (1) Trustworthy (2) a great Communicator and (3) a great Organizer
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Should be self-aware, honest, not afraid to engage employees, and fully invested in the success of our Team
  • Should have excellent energy, judgment, communication, interpersonal and analytical skills required
  • Should have a successful track record of milestone achievement and operational excellence
  • Should have experience with document management software such as Adobe DocuSign

  • The most successful candidate will be a self-starter who is confident and has a track record of using analytic skills to proactively develop new insights that drive operational strategy and growth
  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant
  • Bachelor’s Degree required: MBA or Master’s in Finance or Accounting preferred
