Summary:
Aker is looking for a Fund Accountant with a background in multifamily / commercial real estate. Someone who is detail oriented, possesses an analytical mindset, and is a strong communicator will thrive in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Manage outsourced accounting and financial reporting (day to day)
- Support performance tracking and cash flow projections with bi-weekly catchups
- Manage monthly review of financial statements against financial covenant tracker
- Manage budget allocation and reallocation implementation across all projects
- Manage the monthly draw process for all capital projects across all properties
- Assists with the insurance submission process across all new acquisitions
- Manage the monthly distributable cashflow calculation and communication with 3rd party accountants
- Manage the finalization of the annual tax return trial balances and partner K-1 allocations and reporting
- Assist with reporting review / aggregation for refi / sales
- Manage Juniper Square inputs / setups
- Assist with document aggregation and requests necessary for new accounts /entities on new acquisitions
- Assist with the review of the settlement statement and hand off to outsourced accounting partners
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three to five years of accounting experience (real estate tax or audit a plus)
- Strong knowledge and application of accrual-based accounting
- Proficiency with Excel, Yardi Voyager, Real Page, and Intacct a plus
- Strong attention to detail, able to communicate effectively across teams
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented individual with a high level of initiative
