Alexander Wolf & Son, a General Contractor in the NYC area is seeking a highly organized and detail oriented individual to join our accounting team. This position is hands on with the knowledge and ability to perform all jobs in the accounting department.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Supervise and train AR, AP, HR, Insurance and administrative personnel.

· Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of accounts receivable progress billing submitted by the project managers.

· Review accounts receivable, aging reports and assist with project management for collections.

· Review and monitor the preparation of weekly IN HOUSE payroll. Preparation of Quarterly and Yearly returns.

· Preparation of monthly Sales Tax Returns.

· Manage IT related issues in partnership with 3rd party IT support.

· Prepare client qualification requests.

· Prepare vendor credit applications.

· ICAP documentation knowledge.


Required Skills and Knowledge:

· Bachelor’s Degree in accounting.

· 7+ years of construction accounting experience in NYC REQUIRED.

· Experience with Sage 100/Master Builder Software.

· Knowledge of NYS Sales Tax rules.

· Experience with job cost accounting.

· In house Payroll experience.

· NYC DOB and AHV knowledge.

· Insurance and indemnification knowledge.

· Crystal Reports a plus.

· Strong Microsoft Office skills in Excel and Word.

· Strong interpersonal skills and excellent judgement to handle sensitive and confidential information and interactions.

· Strong leadership, communication, and work ethic.

· Meticulous attention to details and accuracy.

· Ability to work well with a team in a fast-paced environment.
