Blockchange Ventures is seeking a Finance Controller to join the Finance Team. This position will report directly to the CFO and work closely with the finance operations staff, fund administrator and the Blockchange team more broadly. The ideal candidate has approximately 8-15 years of total work experience and has worked in fund accounting within a private equity or venture capital firm, a third party administrator or an accounting firm. The role will oversee accounting of the fund administration, support finance-related investor relations activities and manage the internal finance budget and operations for the management company and the family office of the founding partner.

  • Manage financial reporting process, including coordination of annual audits and filings of tax returns
  • Maintain and understand the general ledgers for all funds, management company and family office
  • Review capital account information prepared by fund administrator including calculations for waterfall, capital calls and distributions
  • Create and manage expected cash flow reports
  • Review legal documents for all financial and investment transactions to inform financial reporting
  • Assist in setting up new fund entities and SPVs
  • Liaise with Fund administrator and banks on tracking of capital calls/distributions
  • Prepare bank requests and wire information, and reconcile cash accounts accordingly
  • Prepare and respond to limited partner due diligence requests
  • Manage and execute firmwide expense reporting process
  • Assist with preparation of SEC Filings
  • Assist CFO with special projects, as needed


Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent education experience, with focus in accounting, finance or related field
  • 8-15 years of total work experience including investment management accounting experience within private equity or venture capital, a third party administrator or accounting firm
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, experience with Google Drive a plus
  • CPA desired but not required
  • Experience and/or interest in the Blockchain and crypto
