Role Summary

We are seeking a Vice President, Finance to join our private equity firm in New York, NY. The Vice President, Finance will be an essential member of our finance team and the role will encompass a broad range of responsibilities supporting finance, operations, investor relations and investments. The Vice President, Finance will work with the CFO and COO to manage an institutional-grade finance and operations platform, as well as support the Firm’s investment team and process as needed. While expertise is required in financial markets, partnership accounting, private equity fund accounting, audit and tax, preference will be given to candidates who also have specific experience with statutory regulations affecting private equity funds.

 

Role Specific Duties

The Vice President, Finance will oversee the day-to-day management of the firm’s finance and operations function. The role specific duties for the Vice President, Finance will include:

· Maintain a system of accounting records consistent with industry best practices

· Manage the external fund administrator and auditor and maintain a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate operational risk

· Periodically produce GAAP compliant financial reports for the funds and management company

· Assist the CFO and investment team with the annual portfolio valuation process

· Support the CFO to successfully complete the annual financial audit process

· Manage outside vendor relationships supporting accounting, technology, and operations

· Oversee and establish banking relationships for the firm’s legal entities

· Support Investor Relations by assisting with accounting and finance-related questions from investors and prospects

· Lead the administration of the Firm’s co-investment vehicles

· Assist the CFO with compliance support and in managing quarterly and annual tax processes with the Firm’s auditor

· Oversee expense administration, fund reimbursement and allocations for the Firm

· Manage the external Human Resources service provider in support of the Firm’s payroll and benefits administration

· Provide support to portfolio company executives and assist with oversight of the finance function in control investments

 

Specific Qualifications

· The Vice President, Finance role requires rigid attention to detail to ensure accuracy of all information provided in support of external and internal reporting requirements

· B.S. or M.S. in Accounting – CPA or MBA preferred

· Deep experience in private equity fund and partnership accounting

· Minimum 8-10 years of accounting and financial experience, with a strong emphasis on controls and working in a regulated environment. Prior Public Accounting experience preferred

· Significant experience in managing the accounting and reporting of an organization

· Experience with Excel, QuickBooks and other Microsoft Office products

· Requires exceptional organizational and time management skills

· Ability and desire to work in a small, entrepreneurial company environment where proactivity is appreciated and rewarded

· Strong leadership and clear communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities

· Team player with unquestionable work ethic and a drive to WIN

· Candidates must possess the highest level of ethics, integrity, credibility, and intestinal fortitude
