Senior Accountant/ Junior Controller Position

Spa Week Media Group (“SWMG”) is looking for an experienced accountant to join our team. As the Senior Accountant, you will manage key aspects of our finance and accounting functions and report directly to the CEO and CFO. This is an in-house position where you will be responsible for the daily productivity of accounts payables and receivables along with the day-to-day financial reporting processes and procedures for multiple companies.

You will be expected to ensure daily accounting controls are being followed and to manage multiple companies’ daily transactions. You will prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, assist in preparing financial statements, variance analysis and ensure data accuracy. This position will work closely with other departments including sales, marketing, and business development.

The ideal candidate will be an entrepreneurial minded critical thinker with a willingness to gain an intimate knowledge of our offerings and how they can be optimized for maximum revenue production. A willingness to be cross trained, and the ability to thrive under pressure are a necessity.

Duties will include the management of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings along with the CFO, including account reconciliations, entering journal entries, and maintaining accurate records and files. As a senior member of the team, you will enjoy the opportunity for rapid advancement and input over future team hires.


Key responsibilities include:

o Perform analytical reviews monthly to ensure proper accruals and GL coding and investigate and resolve discrepancies

o Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable

o Assist with special projects as needed


Requirements include:

o Degree in Accounting

o Minimum 6 years of accounting experience

o Strong knowledge of Excel and data analysis

o Fundamental understanding of a full month-end close process

o Excellent written and verbal communication skills

o Effective problem solving, detail-oriented, and highly analytical

o Ability to self-motivate, think creatively, and question the status quo
