To achieve our vision, Modern Age is currently seeking a Corporate Controller. As a member of the leadership team and the first finance team member at Modern Age, the Corporate Controller will serve as the financial advisor to the CEO and play a leading role in shaping our business and financial strategy throughout this period of rapid growth.

Primary Responsibilities of the Corporate Controller

Accounting and Compliance:
-Partner with external firms to prepare, manage, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to company management and company stakeholders.
-Build the accounting and reporting infrastructure to support multiple business entities, retail expansion, regional expansion, and other significant near-term projects
-Manage cash flow models.
-Ensure company is meeting fiduciary and regulatory obligations and is compliant at all times.

Finance Operations Systems:
-Lead the finance requirements for tooling and technology system implementation to ensure effective data capturing and governance.
-Implement systems for budgeting, invoicing, and payments.
-Work cross-functionally with the People Operations team to continue to evolve our
compensation strategy.
-Improve and simplify processes, drive standardization and reduce risk through comprehensive controls.

Forecasting & Strategic Initiatives:
-Own the company-wide financial model, partnering with executive team and functional leaders to develop detailed operating plans, establish metrics, and monitor success.
-Prepare Board materials that accurately present the company's financial position and highlight the key drivers of the business for strategic decision making.
-Manage the monthly forecasting process for Modern Age revenue and expenses.
-Manage key financial ratios including liquidity ratios, break-even analysis, and burn rate monitoring.
-Partner with the Business Development/Corp Dev team to evaluate M&A and strategic

Investment opportunities.
-Perform strategic financial analysis that drives business decisions.

Desired Qualifications
-5+ years of experience, including experience leading finance organizations at early stage start-ups.
-Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Management (with a concentration in Finance or Real Estate); MS in Finance, MS in Real Estate or MBA preferred.
-Experience leading finance/accounting for both digital and brick-and-mortar commerce
businesses.
-Expert knowledge of financial reporting and business intelligence tools such as QuickBooks,Tableau, etc.
