Job Description
Snapdragon Chemistry is currently seeking exceptional candidates for the position of Controller
at our Waltham, MA 16,000 ft. R&D facility. In Q1 2022, the Controller will also take over finance
and accounting for a 51,000 ft. GMP manufacturing facility down the street. The Controller will
report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will initially be an individual contributor. As the
Company grows, we anticipate this individual managing a finance and accounting team, but
initially, the individual will need to handle these responsibilities on their own (with high-level
guidance from the COO).
Support the Chief Operating Officer in managing the daily accounting, month close, annual tax,
and audit process.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage the month-end close process and daily accounting operations
• Maintain General Ledger to ensure accurate and timely financial statements
• Creation of an annual budget, including headcount, major expenses, capital purchases, and
real estate/construction loans.
• Produce timely monthly variance reports for management and the Board.
• Analyze the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements for accuracy and variances
against plan
• Complete project-level financial profitability analyses
• Be responsible for revenue recognition and other areas of the financial statements as
determined (expertise in GAAP and ASC 606 implementation a must)
• Review, recommend and implement best practices regarding accounting policies and
• Properly record all company accruals
• Put in place a formal purchase order and accounts payable process
• Prepare and/or review bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Experience with handling bank loans and ensuring that covenants are being met
• Ensure proper sales & use tax are being charged to customers
• Implement a cost-accounting process for our manufacturing operations and current
• Set up a billing process that accurately takes into account taxable and tax-exempt
processes and ensures complete compliance with all state tax authorities
• Coordinate and lead year-end tax preparation and annual audit preparation
• Experience migrating from QuickBooks to a more sophisticated accounting system that
supports the business as it grows

• Expert-level knowledge of accounting principles, including the ability to analyze P&Ls,
balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• A minimum of six years of experience in fee-for-service and manufacturing environments
• Solid communication skills and ability to communicate in a team environment
• Proficient time management and organization skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Solid analytical, problem-solving, and financial troubleshooting skills
• Able to work independently and with a team
• Ability to multi-task
Professional Requirements
• CPA or MBA in Accounting or Finance preferred
• 7 to 10 years of accounting experience
• QuickBooks Online expertise and experience upgrading and converting to NetSuite,
Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) Software, Sage, or similar accounting software
• Proficient in MS Excel
• Excellent written and presentation skills
