Job #1671: Chief Financial Officer - NJ (8-19-21)
Salary$170,000 - $200,000 + Discretionary bonus
- As an integral member of the executive management team the CFO is involved in helping to set company strategy and has direct responsibility for all financial functions including general accounting, cost accounting, treasury, credit, budget, projections, P&C insurance, employee benefits, tax and IT.
Partner with President on strategic issues, special projects, etc. Analyze ROI of potential acquisitions, new business ventures and sales opportunities Mentoring of staff, including new family members coming into the business Review profitability and ROI of Customer Sales Incentive and Sales Promotion programs. Work with VP Operations on capital expenditure budgets and ROI of projects. Periodic product line profitability analysis Continually look for cost improvement opportunities and accounting system improvements Develop and maintain systems of internal controls and financial procedures to safeguard the company’s financial assets Prepare quarterly projections for Shareholder/Member estimated tax payments (Sub-S/LLC). Manage treasury function which includes cash management, investment of company funds, renewal of working capital and other lines of credit together with other banking relations Investigate and obtain cost-effective benefits plans, including, medical coverage, 401k providers, union pension, etc. Coordinate insurance functions including obtaining insurance for all coverage requirements and periodically going out to market to ensure the best coverage and pricing Oversee controller’s monthly closing process. Prepare monthly financial statements and explanation of variances. Conduct quarterly reviews meeting with the owners and Senior Management Team. Oversee cost accounting function via cost accounting manager Oversee credit and collection function via credit and collections supervisor Oversee preparation of workpapers for outside accountants review of year-end financial statements and tax preparation
Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 15+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles (CFO or top financial position) within a privately-held, multi-corporate, multi-site manufacturing environment (batch processing a plus), MBA and/or CPA preferred, hands-on and previous experience with systems implementation a must.??? Excellent written, oral communication, analytical and organizational skills. Strong PC skills (Office). Experience with Sub-S/LLC entities Prior M&A experience a plus Prior experience with a family business a plus
