Optima Partners, a leading compliance advisory services firm, is actively seeking a dynamic and hardworking accounting professional to join our team as an Assistant Controller. In this role, the Assistant Controller manages the entire day-to-day financial reporting function and is responsible for the preparation of accurate, complete and timely rules based global financial statements, consolidated reporting, and relevant financial analyses. Responsibilities

The Assistant Controller will:

  • Play a key role in the financial budgeting and reporting process working with our leadership team and external global accounting partners
  • Monitor and analyze operating results against budget and provide insights for potential improvements
  • Manage accounts payable, employee expense processing, payroll, accounts receivable, G/L function (cash flow recording), and tax compliance, Hong Kong statutory audit requirements
  • Make recommendations to improve the quality of account collection procedures, chase aged accounts, work with firm Partners to follow-up on disputed accounts, investigate and remedy to make accounts current
  • Maintain cap table and responsible for equity administration with regards to equity issuances (participation rights)
  • Responsible for accounting of commission payments to eligible staff
  • Lead the efforts in ERP and key accounting systems assessment and implementation
  • Develop and implement efficient processes and that will scale with the company
  • Ensure that accounting policies, procedures, and related internal controls are implemented consistently throughout the company and provide for improvement or efficiencies as needed
  • Work collaboratively with all global offices to ensure seamless operations, data accuracy and information flow


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Familiar with accounting procedures and methods for business services organizations
  • 3-6 years of accounting experience
  • Proficiency with computer platforms and applications
  • Ability to multitask, comfortable working independently
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA and/or advanced Accounting Degree a plus
  • Currently at an accountancy firm or corporate organization
  • Prior experience using Xero, Expensify and
