Job description/Principal duties:

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies
  • Develop, Manage and expand an existing sales team
  • Manage and expand an existing Nationwide network of Manufacturing Representatives
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts
  • Negotiate and close sales/vendor agreements with key customers
  • Oversee the daily operations of the sales department, Customer Service, EDI, and sales force
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts
  • Co-ordinate and communicate with Purchasing, Production and Shipping on changes in product mix and large orders and delivery
  • Provide timely and effective merchandising programs aligned with customer’s needs
  • Extensive travel is required

Qualifications for position:

  • Previous experience of minimum 7 years as a National Sales Manager within the industry
  • Strong Merchandising and placement skills at major retailers
  • In-depth knowledge in managing a direct sales force and a network of brokers (manufacturing reps)
  • Applicable experience with sales performance metrics
  • Outstanding communications, leadership and presentation skills
  • Customer oriented with strong negotiating skills
