Job Description:

The candidate will be responsible for reporting the financial results for companies. This is a very hands on role as we build scale and integrate acquisitions and systems.  Primary responsibilities include development of financial policies and process, leading and coordinating remote accounting resources, diligence on new acquisitions, monthly and quarterly close and forecasting activities and cash flow management. This position reports to the Vice President of Accounting and Finance

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with new acquisition management to oversee and coordinate all operational activities for distribution companies
  • Play a direct role in leading due diligence on new acquisitions
  • Review financial performance and KPI’s and alert management / perform analysis to assist in the operations of the business
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting and operational analysis for acquired companies and consolidation
  • Month end close tasks: journal entries, bank reconciliations, monthly reporting, account reconciliations and analysis of financial results.
  • Learn legacy systems and assist director of financial systems with integration into Epicor
  • Establish and employ a standard chart of accounts for the distribution companies
  • Evaluate current processes and make process improvement recommendations to align with corporate policy
  • Site-visits on an as needed basis for acquisitions to establish corporate oversight
  • Assemble financial statements for each entity and the consolidated distribution group
  • Manage cashflow for acquired companies
  • Develop and publish consolidated financial package
  • Manage quarterly MD&A reports from business partners
  • Lead budget and quarterly forecast process for distribution to pull together individual and consolidated view
  • Develops, implements, and monitors internal controls
  • Train and supervise staff, primarily remote and embedded in the business, and review entries and workpapers
  • Ad-hoc projects

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 7+ years accounting/finance experience; CPA a plus, but not required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent Excel and computer skills
  • Experience with Epicor or other ERP software
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management.
  • Experience in working in a decentralized matrix environment
